    NTSA wishes to notify motor vehicle owners that with effect from 1st October, 2017 all motor vehicle inspection bookings will be charged an additional one-off fee of Kshs. 700

    The following motor vehicles were found speeding above the prescribed speed limit during NTSA operations.

Senior Management

Mr. Francis Meja, Director General

He is responsible for the implementation of the policies, programmes and objectives of the Authority. Prior to his appointment in 2013, he was the Registrar of Motor Vehicles. Mr. Meja commands a wealth of knowledge and expertise on road transport and ransport logistics. He is a holder of a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from University of Nairobi and has a BA in Economics and Public Administration from University of Marathwada in India.

Ms. Jacqueline Githinji, Director Registration and Licensing

She is the Director Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing. She holds a BA Arts and a Masters in Arts from the Universiy of Nairobi. She has over 20 years management experience both in private and public sectors. Ms Githinji has been instrumental in the modernization and reforms in the registration and licensing department where most services have gone online.

 

Mr. Leparan C. ole Tialal, Director Corporate Support

Mr. Tialal the Director, Corporate Support Services is an experienced corporate strategy and perormance management expert with a solid background in human resources, financial management and administration. He has a wealth of experience spanning 16 years, gained both in the public and private sectors. Mr. Tialal holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Stategic Management (University of Nairobi); a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business Adminstration (Catholic University of Eastern Africa); a higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (Kenya Technical University) and a Diploma in Business Administration (RVIST). He is also widely trained in various aspects of Corporate Performance, Human Capital and Financial Management both locally and abroad. He has developed expertise in designing, implementing corporate strategy and managing performance (of people, projects and institutions) and aligning the entire organization in pursuit of its Vision, Mission and Objectives. He is a full member of the Institute of Human Resources Management and a certified ISO 9001:2008 QMS internal auditor.

Eng. Gerald Wangai, Director -Motor Vehicle Inspection

Engineer Wangai is the Director of Motor vehicle inspection and the Chief Superintendent Engineer overseeing the operations of the department. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Nairobi and has vast experience spanning over 28 years in the Public Service. Being a member of professional bodies- the Institution of Engineers of Kenya and Engineers Registration of Board Mr Wangai has attended numerous trainings and seminars.

Ms. Njeri Waithaka, Director Road Safety

As the Director, Road Safety at NTSA, Ms. Waithaka is mandated with ensuring that NTSA's core mandate is met. Njeri is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Criminology from Keele University, a Master of Science in Criminology from the University of Leicester and a foundation degree in Policing from De Montfort University.  She has attended numerous trainings including; System of car control, Investigating Road Traffic Collissions and Police Emergency Response Driving. Prior to joining NTSA, she was the Head of Investigations at the Independent Policing Oversight  Authority (IPOA) where she was a Director. She is a member of various professional and recreational bodies amongst them; Friends of Nairobi National Park, The World Society for the Protection of Animals, Doctors without frontiers, the Law Society of Kenya and the British Society of Criminologists.

CP Eng. Fernando Wangila, Senior Deputy Director, ICT

Fernando is a results oriented and competent Business Transformation and ICT professional with a demonstrable track record of success spanning over 15 years. Nine years of this experience has been gained at senior management and business leadership level in the public and private sector. As a business leader, Fernando has provided strategic direction and successfully delivered large scale and complex ICT research and innovation programmes for governmnent departments and private organisations. Specifically, he has been involved in maximising the realisation of benefits from business and ICT transformation initiatives. Fernando is in the final stage of his PhD in Business Innovation and Technology Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

Mr. Robert Ngugi, Senior Deputy Director, Legal Services

Mr. Ngugi is the Senior Deputy Director in charge of Legal Department where he advises the Authority on legal matters in terms of policy development, legal risks, policy negotiations and regulatory authorities. Robert has a Bachelor in Law (LLB) coupled with a postgraduate diploma in the same field and a Masters in International Commercial Law (LLM). He has several years experiencein the public service. Prior to joining NTSA in 2014, he was a senior state counsel in the office of Attorney General where he worked for five years. He has sat on the Board of various public organizations amongst them NHIF and is currently a member of Law Society of Kenya and the East African Law Association.

 Ms. Dido Guyatu, Deputy Director Corporate Affairs and Communications

Ms Dido Guyatu is in charge of Corporate Communications holds a Master of Arts degree in Corporate Communication from Daystar University with a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communications from the Presbyterian University of East Africa. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (Public Relations) from Daystar University. Dido has attended has attended several trainings relating to the corporate communications and management in various institutions including the Management School, London and Kenya School of Government

 Lt. Colonel (Rtd) Hared H. Adan,   Deputy Director Safety Enforcement & Accident investigations

Colonel Hared holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Security Studies (Combating Terrorism), from the National Defence University (USA) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Political Science from University of Nairobi) coupled with numerous training in and out of the country. He has wealth of experience in Security, Investigation and Law enforcements. Previously worked with the Kenya Defence Forces for about 28 years and Independent Policing Oversight Authority for one & a half years. He has worked in Namibia as UN Peacekeeper and African Union/United Nations Mission in Darfur (Sudan) as the Force Provost Marshal responsible for policing the UN Military Component.
